Lush Lips
I first heard of Lush a few years ago through one of my college roommates who was obsessed with their soaps. Being a poor student, I paid no attention to her ravings, didn't take any whiffs of her loot, and thought some of them looked odd and moldy from a cursory glance. Little did I know...
Roughly a year ago, a Lush shop opened up in my area's mall. Recalling my roommate's love of Lush, I took a stroll in. The prices definitely intimidated me but I was impressed by the visual merchandising and the company ethos. I wanted to try a lot of the bath products but my apartment back then had no tub. I behaved and purchased a lip scrub for my dry and chapped winter lips.
I absolutely love this lip scrub. It smells sweet like toffee and tastes like it too. They have other 'flavors' but they are more minty or sweet candy-like which I am not a fan of. I take a pinch, put it on my lips, and rub them together to slough away any dead skin. To wipe it off, I simply lick my lips. (Sounds somewhat self-cannibalistic but technically we eat our dead skin cells all the time.) The scrub is a harsh abrasive so I follow up with an application of lip balm and my lips are left super soft and kissable.
Here's my latest lip balm love:
The EoS lip balm leaves my lips feeling hydrated, not greasy. It feels lightweight and I don't need to do more than two applications a day. This Summerfruit scent is the only one I have tried (they have many other scents) but its juicy fruitiness will probably keep it on top of my list. Yes, Lush also carries lip balms which I am sure are great. However, I do not like having to stick my fingers into a tin to put on lip balm. So until Lush figures out a way to package lip gloss so my fingers stay clean and the balm germ-free, I will probably not be purchasing it from them any time soon.
Stay tuned for more reviews on beauty, books, movies, and more!
