If you have thick coarse hair like mine, chances are you often find yourself with frizzy, brittle, and damaged ends while your roots remain normal/borderline oily. I have been battling this issue for the last couple years because I had done a couple of things like perming and chemically straightening my hair. The only surefire way to remedy this is to let your hair grow out while regularly trimming the ends until all the damaged hair has been cut out. But how will you show off soft, smooth hair in between cuts?
Here is Aussie's 3-Minute Miracle Moisture Treatment. What it does is restore moisture into your hair so that it softens the cuticles and smooths out split ends thus minimizing the frizzy look. It has a creamy texture and smells lightly of coconuts. I actually do not care for the scent of coconuts but because this cream is subtle, I am not bothered by it. Here's the routine that has worked out best for me:
1. Wash hair clean with shampoo. I've been using Garnier Fructis Avocado and Olive Oil shampoo but found it to be pretty drying for my ends although it was great for my scalp. I just switched to Aussie's Sydney Smooth so I will write a review later on how well it works for me.
2. Squeeze a generous amount of the Treatment into your hand and work into your hair, focusing on the ends. It's okay if you work this into your scalp as well- surprisingly it will not leave a greasy residue and it helps me not get dandruff.
3. Leave in for three minutes. This is the perfect time to turn off the water and take the time to lather up/exfoliate your body thoroughly.
4. Rinse out the conditioner in warm/hot water then run it through cold water. The cold temperature of the water will close your cuticles which opened up in the heat, and prevent breakage later when you brush, blow dry, or style.
Ever since I started using this treatment, my hair has been less frizzy and so much easier to work with. It has a better smooth shiny look to it. I have been slowly switching all my hair care to Aussie hoping for continuously improving results from one brand. Cross your fingers!
