Happy New Year Look

I hope everyone had a fantastic New Year like I did!  One of my closest friends returned to the States for vacation as she had been living/working in Italy for the past few months.  So there was a lot more to celebrate than just a New Year.  =)  At the last minute, we decided to hit up a local club for some dancing so I made sure to dress appropriately for the event.

 

I got the dress as a birthday gift from my best friend.  It's from Francesca's Collections.  I love the color and skirt but I actually had to tweak the top half of the dress.  This dress is a medium and it seems the medium model the vendor designed it for also had a generous bosom.  The straps slipped off my shoulders way too easily.  So I tucked in some excess material under the rosettes that top the straps and sewed them down.  Then I sewed together a little bit of the part where the V of the bust met so that my girlies wouldn't make a surprise appearance.
The shoes I'm wearing are from Michael Kors which I purchased back when I was making more money.  They are my babies!  I heart them so.  ^^

So what's my New Year's resolution?  Take better care of myself period.  Whether it be emotionally, physically, or spiritually.  It's so easy to neglect yourself when you go through day after day rushing from one thing to the next.  Before you realize, it takes a toll on your health and outlook on life.  So I hope to make positive changes that will make life a lot more pleasant.
