Oh dear... It has been quite a while since my last post. September 2013 rolled around and as I'm a teacher- things just got crazy once the school year started. I just went over my 2013 New Year's resolutions and I can't say I'm disappointed.
1. Attending church: Success!
The Boyfriend and I became official members last month. I also joined my church's newly formed acapella group which was a lot of fun. It has been tough with our busy schedules but we have been trying to socialize and meet some more people.
2. Get in shape: Success!
I reach my year-end weight loss goal by watching my diet and doing a lot of Blogilates. I did stop working out around October because it was just really difficult to find time to workout but I was careful about what I ate. I got a stomach flu in November which actually helped me shed those last two pounds... lol xD
So what are my goals for 2014?

Dolled Up: Anniversary Look
It has been quite a while since my last post. Things got super busy as my students' graduation day rolled around and then went straight into the summer program. My summer so far has not been much of a vacation. T.T Luckily, I've managed to have some fun with my friends on the weekends. This particular weekend, the boyfriend and I celebrated our seven-year anniversary. We both forgot... I actually remembered the night before.
He made a quick recovery though and proceeded to make reservations at a lovely restaurant called Cafe Matisse. I'm not going to go crazy on the food descriptions but I do want to rave that this place was fantastic and can't wait to go again in the future!! It is a hidden jewel in the town of Rutherford with a cozy yet whimsical decor, attentive staff, and most importantly, the chef is described as quirky by the waiters as he often changes the menu with amazing flavor combinations!!
It wasn't a fancy place but I decided to gussy up for the boyfriend anyway! After all, it's not everyday that he wines and dines me.
Dress: Forever 21 $22.80
Belt: Francesca's Collection $18.00
Shoes: Target $29.99
Not gonna lie, I was feeling pretty good about myself. ^^

A Bra-piphany
One morning as I was getting ready for work, I rummaged through my drawers to get dressed. The first thing I was reaching for was my black bra. Sadly, the bra had finally given out and the underwire had sprung free from it's sheath. What was I to do? I put on another bra instead and made a mental note to buy a new bra within the week.
I was not looking forward to bra shopping at all. By some twist of fate, I am endowed with quite a sizable chest for an Asian female. I have a really hard time finding comfortable bras because either the straps are too restricting or the cups don't fit right. I usually have to take in an array of sizes with me into the fitting room and even then, I'll be lucky if I find even one comfortable.

New Year's Resolution Progress
When you're an adult, time seems to fly by so quickly. I can't believe it's already mid-February! My boyfriend and I wanted to make a lot of changes in our lifestyle this year. I'm happy to report that we have been doing pretty well with them so far.

The DivaCup!
Warning: This post is about menstruation. Do not continue reading if the subject will make you uncomfortable.
What is the DivaCup? The DivaCup is a budget and eco-friendly menstrual alternative to pads and tampons. It is made of medical grade silicone that can be reused for the duration of roughly a year.
Why the Diva Cup? I first heard of 'menstrual cups' from my college roommate. She was a veteran with this product and explained the whole spiel to me. I thought ,'Oh, that's neat' but dismissed it thinking I was getting by fine with my routine. But honestly, my routine sucked. With my heavy flow, I needed tampons AND pads for the first 2-3 days of my cycle. Any girl can easily calculate how much money I was spending. =(

Taking the Next Step
So I haven't written in quite a while... Reasons include writer's block, laziness, moving, work schedule, etc... I could go on. Now that my new apartment is finally put together, I am finding that I finally have some time to relax!
My boyfriend and I ended up moving in together because we didn't want to deal with my crazy landlady anymore. We actually meant to do this last year but because of my crazy mother... it didn't happen. So how did we manage to pull it off this time around?
We did all the moving without telling either of our parents. After I was completely moved out of my old place, I then told her I had moved and was living by myself. Yes. It is necessary. Even my sister admitted this was the best way to handle the situation.
How is it living in sin so far? Pretty nice. =)

Detoxing in Georgia... LoL
Warning: This is a TMI post. If you feel like you don't want to become close bosom buddies with me and my bodily functions then don't read.
I haven't updated my blog in the last few days as I am at my parents house. I've been spending some quality time with them as well as settling into the Georgian atmosphere for the past three days. It's a little warmer than the frigid cold I left in NJ but I've been cold still since my parents awesomely skimp on the heat to keep the bill low. I am cozied up next to a space heater as we speak. =)
